Community Volunteer and Field Education Opportunities
Bethlehem Evangelical Academy – Arabic/English School (K3-Grade 6)
A combined and integrated Arabic and English curriculum school that began Fall 2014. The school is in a brand-new building with great facilities. Each class has a full-time Arabic-language and English-language teacher. They meet Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and can use assistance in physical education, preschool, arts and crafts, office/filing, general classroom assistance, reading assistance, and the library.
Jerusalem School (Beit Jala Campus)
This English-speaking K3-Grade 12 school which uses a Christian homeschooling curriculum in the primary grades would love to have classroom assistants, English tutors, Bible club teams, and soccer and basketball club coaches. Their schedule is Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. until 2:20 p.m. After-school clubs would begin around 2:30 p.m. The school administration also offers youth group meetings in the evenings several nights each week.
STEP International
Occasional need for students to participate in English café events for classes of all levels.
Shevet Achim (Jerusalem)
Heart surgeries for West Bank/Iraqi children. While an application for internship is required, usually volunteers acting as playmates for children awaiting or recovering from surgery at their HaNeviim Street compound are welcomed.
House of Hope (Bethlehem)
Home for mentally handicapped youth and the blind. Volunteers may assist as caregivers, friendly visitors, walking companions for the kids, office assistants, etc.

Anglican International School (Jerusalem)
An international school serving primarily the expatriate community in Jerusalem from K3-Grade 12. They love to have classroom assistants primarily for the younger grades. This year they are also looking for assistance in the Learning Support Center and the English as an Additional Language Program. Days are Monday-Friday approximately 8-3 p.m., except on Fridays when they are only in school in the mornings. This school is a 40-minute walk from our campus in West Jerusalem.
Be’ad Chaim
Help support expectant mothers who may otherwise choose abortion. They are looking for one or two volunteers to assist on Monday afternoon, or Tuesday morning or afternoon to organize and sort clothing donations, clean, do office work, and occasionally assist clients in their homes.
Seeds of Hope – Little Hearts Daycare and Preschool
This NGO-based program offers children from Jewish, Christian, Muslim, and no-faith backgrounds a place to learn to love themselves, their friends, the world around them, and our Lord, the creator of it all. They serve children from 3 months to 6 years. They are currently looking for volunteers to assist in the 1.5 – 2.5 year old classroom. The school is located in central Jerusalem.
Bethlehem Bible College
English teachers and assistants are needed for their community English classes, which are normally held in the late afternoons. There are other areas of service as well.
King of Kings
Various opportunities exist through this congregation and its satellite ministries, such as soup kitchen service once a week.
