The Cook Intern provides support to the Food Services department by preparing and serving 8-9 freshly made meals per week to fuel JUC’s mission to deepen students’ understanding of the Bible in its ancient and modern geographical and cultural settings is executed with excellence. Responsibilities as follows:
Prepare and serve 8-9 freshly made meals six days per week.
The cook shall have the ability to cook from scratch with ingredients at hand food that is tasty, nourishing, freshly prepared, and attractively served. The cook is responsible for kitchen organization and cleanliness during their shift.
Work in conjunction with the JUC Food Services team to plan complementary meals and order ingredients.
Assist the Food Service Manager in food ordering and proper storage of perishable and non-perishable food.
Provide hospitality at an excellent level to create an atmosphere for students to thrive in on campus.
Plan and provide food services for special events on campus, including end-of-semester Commencement, President’s receptions, and holidays.
Education and Training
Earned associate or B.A. degree
Experience and/or giftedness in food service
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in a similar role preferred
As you will be working mostly with an English-speaking staff, a high proficiency in English is required.

You will receive a flight to Israel at the beginning of your term and a flight home at the end of your term. You will also receive a roundtrip flight to the USA or a destination of your choosing during the semester break (3-weeks in December).
You will receive a monthly stipend commensurate to experience.
In coordination with your supervisor on schedule, you will have the opportunity to participate in JUC field studies at no cost.
