Jerusalem University College may consider affiliate partnerships with consortium member schools. Current partnerships are listed here, and eligible students may enroll in these opportunities:
One of JUC’s affiliate partners is Northern Seminary in Lisle, IL. This partnership creates a pathway for Northern Seminary students to apply courses taken through JUC toward a Master of Arts in Old Testament (MAOT). Students in this program have the opportunity to spend between three weeks and one year studying at JUC on Mount Zion in Jerusalem. The remainder of the program can be completed anywhere, taking advantage of JUC Online and Northern Seminary’s online courses. This program is ideal for those who desire to pursue an M.A. degree but are unable to relocate to Jerusalem for an extended period or those who want to supplement their JUC program with seminary courses.
Northern Seminary’s MAOT is a 2-year, 54-quarter-credit-hour (36 semester credits) program. This program equips pastors, teachers, ministry leaders, and future doctoral students with an understanding of Hebrew, Old Testament, and the contexts of the New Testament.
Students will study the history, archaeology, geography, and culture of the ancient biblical world. Students who complete one year at JUC will also develop a beginning-to-intermediate knowledge of biblical Hebrew to enhance study and appreciation of the original text of the Old Testament.
Students who plan to complete the MAOT will spend three weeks to one year in residence at JUC, completing either the 3-week Historical and Geographical Settings of the Bible Short-Term course or the 1-year Biblical History and Geography (BHG) Graduate Certificate. Those completing the 3-week Short-Term course will also enroll in JUC Online courses to fulfill the remaining credit hour requirements.
Students pursuing the MAOT must meet the following requirements for admissions:
Students are required to pay all tuition and fees to both institutions per their policies, including room and board and field study fees at JUC. Students may qualify for scholarships at either or both institutions.
Students completing the in-residence component of the program at JUC may apply to live on campus. Preference will be given to current full-time JUC students and/or first-year Northern MAOT students.
JUC cannot obtain student visas for part-time students.
