ONLINE HCL 6/413 Hebrew Readings in the Book of Genesis - Credit Hours: 2

Course Description

During this course, students will read sections of the Hebrew Bible together to increase fluency and understanding. This course is designed for students who have previously studied Biblical Hebrew and desire to refresh and deepen their knowledge. Special emphasis will be placed on Hebrew grammar (including the verbal system), syntax, and vocabulary. This course is open to students who have taken at least one year of Biblical Hebrew

  • Language - Hebrew 

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, the student should be able to: 

  • develop fluency in reading the Hebrew Bible; 
  • understand the basics of Hebrew grammar, with special focus on the weak verbs; 
  • understand syntax as we are confronted with various issues in exegesis, with special emphasis on the verbal system; and  
  • be prepared to systematically read the Hebrew Bible on a regular basis.
