Our Affiliations
Jerusalem University College / Institute of Holy Land Studies is an autonomous institution functioning in Israel under the regulations of the status quo provisions for church-state relations designated by the Ottoman Empire and handed on by the British Mandate to the newly formed state of Israel in 1948.
As such, it participates in all of the academic approval and recognition that it can receive under Israeli law as a Christian university-level school operating in Israel. In addition, Jerusalem University College is recognized through accreditation and affiliative relationships in North America and Asia.
ACCREDITED
Asia Theological Association (ATA)
JUC has been accredited by the ATA since 1998. Our accreditation was recertified by the ATA in 2008 and 2017. Most of our Asian and Pacific Rim Consortium member schools are also accredited by ATA.

Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU)
JUC is an International Affiliate of the Council for Christian College and Universities and as such enjoys all the rights and privileges of participating in the council that this entails.
RECOGNIZED
A Non-Profit Educational Institution
JUC operates in Israel under the name Institute of Holy Land Studies (machon amerikai leheqer eretz hatzvi) and is recognized in Israel by the Ministry of Interior's Department of Religious Communities, as well as by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an independent, degree-granting, Christian school of higher education. As such, it functions with the approval of the Israeli government.
In the U.S., JUC is recognized as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit educational institution, registered in Ohio and originally chartered in Minnesota in 1957.
Consortium of Associated Schools of Jerusalem University College
Jerusalem University College enjoys a self-authenticating accreditation through the oversight of its Consortium of member schools who meet the criteria of regional or professional accreditation in the United States and Canada, or for non-North American schools, the national accreditation standards of their country. Our Consortium consists of more than 70 schools in the United States, Canada, and Australia.
